There’s no doubt about it; the fridge is one of the most important appliances in your entire home. Why? What types of fridges are available?

There are so many different varieties of fridge on offer that it can make the process of choosing one feel like an insurmountable challenge. Firstly, it’s worth considering the space available in your kitchen – do you have enough room for a fridge AND a freezer, or would you like a fridge with a freezer built into it? If not, opt for a larder fridge – these have far more storage space than ordinary fridges and also have the added bonus of the fact that they automatically defrost themselves. Result. House-proud folks may also want to look into buying a fridge as an integrated appliance, to ensure that it neatly blends into your current kitchen design and keeps the decor consistent.

Which size fridge is right for me?

Only you can answer this question; after all, only you will know how much room you have spare for a fridge. As a general rule of thumb, standard fridges (H85cm) are the best for people who don’t have much space, or who are seeking to put their fridge under a counter top. A tall fridge (H130cm or over) is the one to bag if space isn’t an issue and you want the maximum amount of fridge storage space available. Make sure that, before shopping for fridges, you measure the space available and take those measurements with you – there’s nothing worse than buying a fridge and discovering that it won’t fit into your home!
